ChordBuddy LLC announced in mid-July the launch of their new “Duck Commander” edition of its latest product, ChordBuddy Jr, which is a new-half sized guitar designed for children ages 4 to 8 years old.
At Summer NAMM 2014, we stopped by the ChordBuddy booth where they were previewing the new half-sized guitar in the ever-popular Duck Dynasty theme. ChordBuddy, LLC also makes the popular ChordBuddy Guitar Learning System.
According to a recent press release, the new ChordBuddy Jr “Duck Commander” edition guitar is printed with a cartoon graphic featuring the ever popular Robertson family from A&E’s hit reality show Duck Dynasty. The special edition guitar with the ChordBuddy device attached to it allowing young players to work on strumming, rhythm and timing skills; build finger strength and dexterity, and work on ear training without having to worry about how to make chords.
The body is a miniature dreadnaught guitar from the Perry’s Guitar line and comes complete with DVD, songbook, and digital tuner. MSRP price is $169 and is available from Hal Leonard.
“Playing the guitar is great for adults and kids,” said Willie Robertson, CEO of Duck Commander Enterprises and star of Duck Dynasty. “With several music-lovers and musicians in our family, we thought the Chordbuddy Jr. was a good tie-in with our values and brand.”
ChordBuddy’s patented learning system attaches to the neck of the guitar and allows students to play songs instantly by pushing a button. As they progress, the tabs are removed, like training wheels on a bike, and the students are able to play the chords.
ChordBuddy comes with a lesson guide, DVD and book with over 100 songs for under $50. www.chordbuddy.com
