Singing Sentation Rissi Palmer Returns with New Music

The Back Porch Sessions set for digital release on May 26, 2015
Pre-sales available NOW exclusively through iTunes

It was announced earlier tihs month in a Press Release, one of country music’s most soulful female vocalists in the past decade – RISSI PALMER – is making her return to the spotlight with a brand new 5-song EP, The Back Porch Sessions on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. The album is being released to major digital retailers worldwide, with pre-sales available now exclusively through iTunes.

The new EP is the perfect blend of all Rissi’s musical influences, from country to soul and R&B. Her warm and powerful voice will remind music lovers why the singer won them over back in 2007 with her self-titled debut album.

“It’s southern soul,” Rissi says with a smile. “This album is a blend of all my musical influences — from Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton, to Aretha Franklin and Al Green — from the music I heard on the radio as a young girl, to the deep, heart-stirring kind of music we sang in the church choir.”

The new music on The Back Porch Sessions features original songs co-written by Rissi, and was produced by Grammy Award winning songwriter/producers Drew Ramsey (India.Arie, Robert Randolph, Jonny Lang) and Shannon Sanders (Randy Travis, India.Arie, John Legend). Each song features an array of emotions, stemming from real life experiences such as the first single, “Sweet, Sweet Lovin,'” which holds an extra special place in the singer’s heart, as it features her three-year-old daughter, Grace at the opening, the rootsy and sexy tone of “Well Enough Alone,” and “Summerville,” that pays homage to her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and the small town from which they came.

These days, the wife and mother has stumbled upon a new love for life’s greatest blessings, which in turn has helped shape the artist she has become over time.

“The person who was looking for love, now has found it and that has changed so much of who I am, especially as an artist,” Rissi explains. “It’s now about finding a new side of me artistically, rather than trying to figure out what box to fit in.”

With the release of “Country Girl,” Rissi made a lasting mark in country music. She received widespread media attention with national appearances on CBS Early Show, CNN and Extra, and was featured in prominent publications such as Huffington Post, GIANT, New York Post, Newsweek, People Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Vibe Magazine and more.

She was an invited performer at the White House and made appearances on the Grand Ole Opry on numerous occasions. Rissi  released three singles from her self-titled album at the time, including her fastest-rising single to date, “No Air,” and recorded an exclusive EP for Starbucks. Rissi’s songs have appeared on television shows such as Saving Grace, Army Wives, Heartland, and in the feature film The Woodsman starring Kevin Bacon. In 2013, she released her first children’s LP titled Best Day Ever. The title track will be included in an upcoming Hallmark family compilation.

Rissi will be touring this summer in support of the new project. To keep up with where she will be over the next several months, visit RissiPalmerMusic.com or connect with her on social media via Facebook or on Twitter.
