Press Release:  Los Angeles, CA – Americana artist, Susan Toney, is set to release her latest album, ‘Love is the Cure’ on Strange Child Recordings on March 4, 2014.  Produced by GRAMMY winning, multi-platinum David Z (Prince, John Mayall, Jonny Lang, Etta James, Eric Clapton) and mastered by GRAMMY Award-winning Ray Kennedy (Taylor Swift/Shania Twain) and Erick Labson (Sublime/Aerosmith/Boyz II Men/The Who), Toney recorded the album in both her native Los Angeles and in Nashville, TN’s famed, Ocean Way Recording Studios.

Of her release, Toney exclaims, “Love Is The Cure-The Essential Collection’ was inspired by looking at many different kinds of relationships in life and the beauty and complexity of each. If you bring the human experience of joy, intimacy, safety, fear, vulnerability and differences together, with patience and understanding, love is the cure…”

“I’ve endured personal tragedies in my life and God and music have been my saving Grace.  Music is a powerful voice and I am blessed to be the instrument to help others (those who may be struggling with their own life hurdles be it abuse, addiction, conflict or heartache).  I believe LOVE IS THE CURE speaks to express emotion.  Each song was created from life experiences with the hope to help the listener rise from personal trials to triumphs.”

‘Love Is The Cure’ features Toney’s self-reflective songwriting, focuses on personal rediscovery and is complemented by a first class lineup of musicians who recorded on the album alongside the artist. ‘Love Is The Cure’ includes performances by Jane Getz (The Bee Gees, Ringo Starr, John Lennon) on keys; Mike Rojas (Kellie Pickler, Tim McGraw, Dave Stewart, Stevie Nicks) on piano, B3 organ and keyboards; Pat Buchanan (Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney) Jack Holder (Buddy Guy) and Bob Britt (Bob Dylan, Shemekia Copeland) on acoustic and electric guitar; Steve Mackey on bass; Lynn Williams on drums and percussion; Bekka Bramlett and Grammy-nominated Gospel artists The McCrary Sisters on background vocals.
