Los Angeles based Dollyrots have recently released their 5th studio album Barefoot And Pregnant, produced by the band and John Fields (Jimmy Eat World, Andrew WK, Miley Cyrus) with mixing by Paul D. Hager (Har Mar Superstar, Katy Perry) on the band’s own Arrested Youth label with Hunnypot Records as a digital partner.
Barefoot And Pregnant is an effort totally funded by fans through an ongoing PledgeMusic.com campaign giving the band the opportunity to once again take the DIY route and have the power to make their own decisions, choose their own direction and go back to their rowdy punk rock roots. In the spirit of playing it forward the band is donating 5% of any money raised after their PledgeMusic goal is reached to MusiCares.
The new album is the follow-up to the group’s 2012’s Kickstarter funded and self-titled LP, which followed two albums on Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records and a 2004 debut through Lookout/Panic Button Records.
The Dollyrots kicked off their music careers as a teenage punk rock couple in 2000, now fast-forward to 2014 the two have remained side by side while recording 5 studio albums, criss-crossing the US and Europe touring, played 7 years on a Van’s Warped Tour stage, have been featured and appeared on multiple television shows and big-screen films, tied the knot and in November 2013 had their first child. With a sizable repertoire of songs under their belts the Dollyrots are still delivering the goods but with a few more years of life experience behind them.
Expect the band to tour throughout 2014 with the DollyTot in tow.
