Released today, country music royalty Hilary Williams premiered her first music video for her single, “Crazy” from her debut album My Lucky Scars. The music video was directed by renowned Peter Zavadil, focusing on the highs and lows of love, set to the backdrop of the gorgeous landscape of New Mexico.
Williams says, “Working with Peter has always been a dream for me, he has worked on some of my favorite videos. When I first heard ‘Crazy’ I immediately thought New Mexico would be the perfect back drop for the video but I never told that to anyone. When Peter called me to discuss his vision for it and said ‘Albuquerque,’ I knew it was meant to be. The final product was better than anything I could have ever imagined.”
“As Hilary sings in ‘Crazy,’ love can be like a roller coaster of emotions…the ups and downs, highs and lows. In the piece I envisioned the couple’s truck wheels on the road across the desert like wheels on the rails of a roller coaster: they break up, they make up and then fall in love all over again. Like so many relationships, it’s ‘Crazy’ but it works,” states Zavadil.
Hilary is the granddaughter of Hank Williams, Sr., and daughter of Hank Williams, Jr. and is making her own way, with her own unique sound and musical skills with her first album. My Lucky Scars was released on May 25, 2018 and was inspired by her near-death accident in 2006 and overcoming the event.
My Lucky Scars was produced by Hilary Williams, John Would (Fiona Apple and Lucinda Williams) and Lincoln Parish (Cage the Elephant). “Crazy” is written by Natalie Hemby and Lincoln Parish.
