Christine Devine Announced as 2017 She Rocks Awards Host

TV News Anchor will lend her talents to special
She Rocks Awards 5th anniversary celebration

Needham, MA (November 17, 2016) – The Women’s International Music Network (the WiMN) announces that TV news personality Christine Devine has joined as the host of the upcoming 2017 She Rocks Awards. Recognizing women who stand out as role models in the music industry, the live awards event takes place on January 20, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Anaheim Hilton Hotel during the NAMM Show.

Devine was named as one of the top 50 women changing Los Angeles by Los Angeles Magazine. The 16-time Emmy-winning FOX 11 news anchor can be seen at 5 and 10PM on KTTV. Devine also hosts the FOX 11 “Wednesday’s Child” adoption segment, which has helped more than 500 foster children find permanent families since its inception in 1995. Devine is also heavily plugged into the music scene. She mentors several young singers and artists, and has directed music videos, written songs, and executive produced R&B and pop music. She is also married to musician, bassist/vocalist Sean McNabb (Quiet Riot, Dokken, Lynch Mob).

“My first memory of hearing music is that of my father listening to jazz as he worked in his home office,” shares Devine. “My friends and I would dance in the backyard to Donna Summer, The Bee Gees, and to the song ‘Kung Fu Fighting.’ I’m thrilled to be a part of this event. As a career mentor to some young artists, I understand the struggles, the dream, the passion, and the commitment of those who bring music to life.”

The WiMN Founder, Laura B. Whitmore, comments, “Christine’s talents, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, are a great match for our event. Her enthusiasm for music and her award-winning personality and know-how will perfectly complement all that we have planned for our 5th anniversary year. We’re excited to have her on board.”

The She Rocks Awards pays tribute to women who display leadership and stand out within the music industry, and has become a standard at the NAMM Show. 2017 honorees include Monique Boyer, Rebecca Eaddy, Lita Ford, Beverly Fowler, Lisa Foxx, Charyn Harris, Karrie Keyes, Tracy Leenman, Dani Markman, Shirley Manson, Esperanza Spalding, and Leanne Summers.
