The artist reflects on the importance of recognizing the power and confidence that comes from walking in your purpose in her upcoming single “King Me,” out Friday, March 4, 2022. This deeply personal track was a collaboration effort alongside Inglewood native rapper D Smoke, the inaugural winner of Netflix’s music competition show, Rhythm & Flow. The Grammy-nominated rapper provided the rare male’s perspective on self-love – a theme which is not commonly used in the hip-hop genre. Recognizing the royalty within us all, “King Me,” the soulful R&B track hopes to empower and encourage listeners all over the world.
Following her EP The Queen Issue, the artist’s sophomore EP, Work of heART, is set to release on May 27, 2022.
Forced to contemplate the best way to live her most authentic life while simultaneously incorporating these same sentiments into her music, Sha’Leah Nikole took the much needed time during the global lockdown to hone her craft.
