GRITTY SLEIGHS! 50+ WOMXN MUSICIANS TAKE OVER THE ECHO LA FOR HOLIDAY JAM SHOWCASE

Los Angeles, CA | December 2022 Gritty In Pink sleighed the night away at The Echo LA on Thursday, December 8 with their All GRL Jam: Holiday Special. Featuring over 50+ women and non-binary artists, getting the LA community in the holiday spirit with some of your favorite holiday jams and anthems! The 21+ event was sponsored by Jagermeister, Teremana, Drew Martin, Ernie Ball, Get’m Get’m Straps, Guitar Girl Magazine, held in partnership with Live Nation Women and Gritty In Pink’s new marketplace for womxn in music, INPINK.

DJ Brynn Taylor kicked off the night with a holiday mashup set, along with opening performances from synth-pop singer Maisy Kay and soul/r&b powerhouse Cocoa Sarai. Cocoa had the audience’s eyes glued to her, as she made her way to perform on top the bar, and later slowed down her set to speak on reproductive rights. The night was co-hosted by Gritty founder Shiragirl, and the quirky reindeer-styled Kym Priess (Stuntdriver), who even hosted a dance contest prior to the jam.

Following the opening acts, the soulful Christina Larocca got the crowd hyped early on with Pink’s hit “Get the Party Started.” Jasmine Crowe and Dani Hagan put a rock spin on Ariana Grande’s “Santa Tell Me.” Swedish pop act Manda Malina serenaded the audience with “Grown Up Christmas List,” with an incredible 3 part harmony chorus. Blues/Rock songstress Vella spreaded the message of hope and compassion with the Foo Fighters’ “Times Like These.” Gritty In Pink’s December Bandmate of the Month, Sterling Victorian performed Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” Other highlights of the evening were Shanice Antonia owning her own melodious rendition of the ultimate holiday anthem “All I Want for Christmas,” Shiragirl’s sultry performance of “Santa Baby” complete with choreography, and Vashonda Sherra’s energetic performance of Black Eyed Peas “I Gotta Feeling.” Kat Cunning performed her show stopping rendition of O Holy Night with jam Musical Director Lisa Bianco bringing the rock, shredding on guitar.

The Jam also included performances from vocalists Jules Walcott, Wei Wei, Babyghost, VK Lynne, Jules Quaas, Xtine from The Reckless Hearts, along with seasoned musicians such as Kat Dyson, and many more! There was something for everyone- the hosts even performed a snippet of Adam Sandler’s Hanukkah Song. At the end of the night, Gritty In Pink announced Dani Hagan as the winner of their Ernie Ball Artist Guitar Giveaway, and finished with a Gritty rendition of “Jingle Bells.”

It has been a monumental year for Gritty In Pink, onboarding Melissa Etheridge as a Strategic Advisor, hosting their first festival stage at Surf Rodeo, announcing their investment from Live Nation, and more! Next year we’ll see Gritty In Pink kicking off a monthly series, starting in February. We can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store!
