Nashville-based country-pop singer-songwriter Casi Joy unveils her new single, “Under The Hood,” the title track to her upcoming full-length album, slated to drop later in 2023.
Originally from Kansas City, in 2022 Joy made her debut via Vere Music, releasing “Everything’s Fine,” followed by “Business of Breaking up.” She then released her first original Christmas song, “The Tree and Me.”
In addition to recognition as a compelling songwriter, Joy has also built a reputation as one of the hardest-working touring artists in the business with one of Nashville’s most formidable live shows, spending so much time on the road that she eventually decided to convert her tour bus (“The Joyride”) into a home on wheels. Last year that reputation caught the attention of Mint Talent Group, who officially signed on as her booking agent this past September. Over the years, Joy has shared — and continues to share — the stage with artists such as Maren Morris, Keith Urban, Carly Pearce, and Dustin Lynch.
In 2017, Joy performed her cover of LeAnn Rimes’ “Blue” on NBC’s The Voice. Talking about her, Blake Shelton said, “She has this electric energy when she’s on stage and has these unique things that she can do vocally. There’s no stopping Casi Joy.”
Last year, PopWrapped designated her an ‘Artist to Watch,” as did Cowboy Lifestyle Network. In addition, Casi Joy has been featured on elite outlets and has amassed 350,000 social media followers, along with more than 40 million views online.
“Under The Hood” opens on shimmering tones, flowing into a delicious melody adorned in shiny, creamy textures. A mid-tempo rhythm delivers a vibrant cadence as Joy’s crème de la crème voice projects wickedly alluring timbres, dripping with luscious, drawling surfaces.
“She’s a little bit banged up / Got some dents in the bumper, scratches in the wood … She runs like she should / Under the hood.”
Wow! “Under The Hood” is superb, drenched in radiant coloration, a contagious rhythm, and the exquisite voice of Casi Joy.
