DALLAS, Texas – Country music’s biggest stars unite to honor first responders and Gold Star families in, “Country Music Salutes America’s Heroes,” airing in a two-part special on Gray Television’s nationally syndicated “The Song” June 24 and July 1. The special, taped outside of iconic Honky Tonk Billy Bob’s Texas, features powerhouse performances from Dennis Quaid, Jelly Roll, Ian Munsick and The Frontmen.
During the taping, Tunnel to Towers surprised a Gold Star family with a mortgage free home. The family of fallen Army Captain Torre Mallard Sr. was presented the life changing news by Tunnel to Towers CEO, Frank Siller and Dennis Quaid in front of the thousands in attendance, largely first responders, active military and veterans. Special appearances throughout the evening include 3x Super Bowl Champions Chad Hennings and Darren Woodson as well as Scotty Hasting, Kylie Frey and Mikayla Lane.
“The Song,” now in its fourth season, is hosted by Krista Marie and taped live at TGL Farms in Hendersonville, Tenn. It is co-packaged and produced by Oswald Entertainment Group & Tupelo Honey and airs in more than 150 markets across the U.S.
Tunnel to Towers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was created in memory of Stephen Siller, a first responder who lost his life during the September 11 attacks. This organization assists veterans, first responders and Gold Star families and have raised more than 500 million dollars in support of our nation’s heroes and their families.
