Country music singer-songwriter Brooke Moriber releases her latest single, “So Do I,” a song about regretting the end of a relationship, hoping the one you lost feels as lost without you as you do without them.
Written by Brooke Moriber, with Jessica Cayne and Karen Kosowski, the song’s gorgeous melody and expressive lyrics reveal Moriber’s emotional vulnerability.
“Movin on or wondering what went wrong / This bed feels empty at night and so do I / My friends keep asking me why and so I / Feeling like I won’t recover / Like there’ll never be another / And I wonder.”
“So Do I” features the talents of Sol Littlefield on electric guitars, Marc Rogers (electric bass, synth bass), Justin Schipper (steel), Chad Cromwell (drums), and Nathan Chapman (acoustic guitar, resonator guitar, banjo).
Produced by Karen Kosowski, mixed by Craig Alvin, and mastered by Greg Calbi, “So Do I” was engineered by David Kalmusky at Nashville’s Addiction Sound Studios and by Karen Kosowski at Nashville’s The Holodeck South.
Moriber’s series of Nashville style songwriters’ rounds, ‘Nashville in New York,’ recently appeared at The Bitter End in NYC on July 20. The event, sponsored by Music Choice Network, featured Callista Clark, Emily Shackelton, Averie Bielski and Claire Wyndham with special guest M.C. Kelly Ford.
Moriber began performing on Broadway when young, followed by writing songs in her teens as a way to come to grips with a rare eye disease. Fortunately, the disease went into remission, thus saving her eyesight. After releasing her debut single, “Cry Like A Girl,” she signed with Reviver Records. Last year, she released her self-titled debut album on Reviver Records.
Moriber’s music Brooke’s music has been featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday Country, Country Christmas playlists, Sirius XM’s Velvet, CMT online, Music Choice Network, and the Music Row Country Breakout radio chart.
“So Do I” opens on dreamy, swirling tones topped by Moriber’s silky, evocative vocals. As the harmonics elevate, Morbier’s voice takes on soaring timbres, imbuing the lyrics with poignant, nostalgic surfaces. It’s a grand, haunting voice that drips with passionate sensations and graceful sonic nuances.
Thick with aching emotions, on “So Do I,” Brooke Moriber explores the unshakable feeling of unfinished love.
