About me:
Hailing from New Jersey and residing in Nashville, Tennessee, Sophie Ruggiero is a multi-genre guitarist who emulates what it means to be a modern-day musician. Picking up the guitar at the age of seven, she has worked tirelessly every day to improve her craft. She attended Belmont University as a commercial guitar major, where she connected with many other musicians. She plays with various artists in the Nashville pop scene. Ruggiero has performed at several venues around Nashville, including Marathon Music Works, The Basement East, Mercy Lounge, and The High Watt. Ruggiero is a master of genre fluidity, using her classically trained background in rock music and love for pop to create a fresh and bold sound for many Nashville artists. As well as being a guitarist, Ruggiero is a certified audio engineer and graduated from Dark Horse institute in 2021.

Favorite guitar riff that inspired you to play guitar?
“The Ocean” by Led Zeppelin. Growing up, I was always so fascinated with Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page’s playing because his tone is so powerful and classic. My dad introduced me to the band when I first started playing, and he would challenge me to see if I could play his favorite songs.
