Five Fun Facts about Geneviève Racette

Hey! I’m a singer-songwriter from Montreal, Quebec. I’ve released three records so far but I recently released something different…a cover: “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain. For my birthday in August, I decided to treat myself and share some music with you guys. I’m currently in the USA spending time with my lover and getting inspired to write a new record. I have a bunch of tour dates coming up so I’m really appreciating the downtime. I hope you like the cover! Thanks for reading.

Top 3 songs on your playlist?

I’ve been OBSESSED with Jojo for the past few months. So, I’m going to say #1 is “Spiral SZN” by Jojo, #2 is “Queen Of California” by John Mayer because it’s the perfect road trip song, and #3 is “Pour que tu m’aimes” encore by Céline Dion because I know every single word and it’s so fun to sing.

First live concert?

My first live concert was actually pretty cool… it was Britney Spears! Baby one more time!

Dream collaboration?

I already did that! 😉 (Go stream “Someone” featuring City and Colour!!!) But if I have to choose another dream collaboration, I would say Natalie Hemby. She’s my favorite songwriter. I literally like everything she posts on social media. It’s almost embarrassing!

Pre-performance ritual?

Honestly, doing my hair and make-up. It gives me confidence and its sort of my me time.

If I wasn’t a musician, I would be . . .

I would be a stay-at-home cat mom!
