Pennsylvania-based singer-songwriter Kiana Corley makes pop/soul music shaped by the folk and alt-rock she heard growing up in Lancaster. The eclectic songstress cites Corinne Bailey Rae, Tori Kelly, and Stevie Wonder as her biggest influences. Since beginning her musical journey at age twelve, she has come to collaborate with innovators such as Shannon McArthur, a producer who’s worked with the likes of Dashboard Confessional, Jesse McCartney, Lucy Hale, Chase Rice, and JBDK, a hip-hop duo who’ve opened for artists as big as Fetty Wap. Corley also serves as the lead vocalist and guitarist for pop band No Bad Days. In 2019, she released her debut EP One Way as well as her first three singles, “Butterflies,” “Wake,” and “Best of Me.” Her most recent single “Lukewarm” came out this January. Corley is currently preparing for the release of her next EP Take It or Leave It, which is expected to arrive later this spring.
Top 3 songs on your playlist?
They literally change every day, but right now, the top three songs I’ve been loving are “Ungodly Hour” by Chloe x Halle, “Goodie Bag” by Still Woozy, and “Sunny Days” by Allen Stone.
First live concert?
Bruno Mars for his Doo-Wops & Hooligans tour!! I’ve seen sooo many concerts since, and that one still holds a placement as one of the best ones I’ve been to.
Dream collaboration?
There’s so so so many, honestly! One that’s on the top of my list though, is Lianne La Havas for sure.
Pre-performance ritual?
I don’t really have a set-in-stone ritual, but some things that I always, always do are make tea with honey, and I make sure to find a few quiet moments in the venue to breathe and center myself and pray. I try to avoid going over my set that day too much because I find that I can stress myself out by nitpicking everything on the day of.
Interests outside of music?
I really like running and making lattes! I also want to get better at speaking French.
