Tell us about the inspiration behind your new music.

This song was written while I was processing a recent breakup of a 7-year-long relationship. My heart was going through all of the emotions and Marcus Hummon and Chris Roberts helped me write it. The process was super cathartic, and they really helped me bring it to life.

What was the songwriting and recording process?

While writing this song we made voice memos along the way. Shortly after we recorded it with the help of Marcus Hummon and a few other amazing musicians. We had some great collaborators and it was really fun in the recording studio.

You’ve had the opportunity to work with Vince Gill, among many other great artists, and to appear on The Voice. What’s one of the biggest takeaways you’ve learned from those experiences?

Working with Vince Gill was such an honor for me along with being on “The Voice.” Those experiences helped me to grow and gave me strength and encouragement to keep doing what I do. I’ve learned a lot from everyone I’ve worked with and it’s so nice to have all of the support from so many wonderful people in the industry.

What do you hope your fans/listeners take away with them when they listen to your music?

I hope it brings them comfort, happiness, and distraction, and to let them know they aren’t alone. I love listening to all different types of music and different ideas because it makes me remember we all go through ups and downs in life. Singing about it is my therapy.

When did you first pick up the guitar, and what drew you to that instrument?

I was ten years old when I first picked up the guitar. I learned G, C and D chords and started playing songs. I liked it because I could back myself and sing while I played!

Speaking of instruments, what brand(s) do you play and why?

I have played a Martin guitar for several years.  It’s my baby!

Who are some of your musical influences?

Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Randy Travis, Alan Jackson, The Chicks, Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack, Adele, Ed Sheeran, and Chris Stapleton … To name a few!

Will you be touring in support of your new music?

Yes! I have a European tour lined up this summer. I’m currently doing shows in Switzerland, returning back soon to my home in Nashville to do shows then I’ll start a tour in May in Denmark and then will go to Norway.
