Cort Introduces the CR300 Electric Guitar for PAF Tone Without the Price Tag

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — Cort introduces the new CR300 electric guitar for players who desire original PAF (“Patent Applied For”) tone without the price tag. Modeled after classic designs, the single-cutaway CR300 has a set neck, solid body, and retroactive humbuckers to evoke the timeless sounds of the 50s and 60s.

One of the CR300’s most prominent time-tested features is the thick 15 mm (0.6’’) carved premium maple top on a mahogany body with ivory binding. This classic wood combination enables a tone that’s thick, warm, rich, and full, but with an edge to the sweetness. This quality is further enhanced by set-neck construction, which produces a sound and feel distinctly different from bolt-on, with enhanced sustain and a more focused midrange that cuts through the mix like a knife through hot butter. The mahogany neck has a jatoba fingerboard with retro block inlays and a 12’’ radius on a 24.75’’ scale.

The CR300 is built with EMG® RetroActive Fat 55 dual humbuckers that provide the best of two worlds: warm and sweet vintage-style tones with all the benefits of active low impedance output. The 3-way toggle switch selects either humbucker or both. More versatility is offered in the classic 2-volume and 2-tone control layout, which helps produce a wide variety of great sounds. The newly designed external preamp is well-suited for the modern player’s needs.

Also adding to the CR300’s classic look is the revered Tune-O-Matic bridge with stop tailpiece. An ideal fit for single-cutaway guitars, it transfers the strings’ vibrational energy into the body. Vintage-style machine heads provide excellent tuning stability and functionality, and chrome hardware reinforces the cool, retro vibe. Polishing off the CR300, the semi-gloss on the Aged Vintage Burst finish exhibits the best qualities of both gloss and satin, providing a luxurious look that also feels smooth to the touch.

With the CR300, players can go back in time without getting set back financially.
