JACKSON ANNOUNCES THE NEW X SERIES SIGNATURE DAVID ELLEFSON 30TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT BASS CBX IV

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (November 4, 2020)- Jackson today announces the X Series Signature David Ellefson 30th Anniversary Concert Bass CBX IV.

It has been three decades since Megadeth’s acclaimed Rust in Peace album took the music world by storm, with David Ellefson’s intricate bass skills and unparalleled playing style cementing the record as one of the finest thrash metal albums of all time.

Jackson proudly celebrates the anniversary of this landmark album and our long-lasting relationship with the formidable Megadeth bassist with the X Series Signature David Ellefson 30th Anniversary Concert Bass CBX IV.

Bearing Ellefson’s personal touches, this monster bass pays homage to his very first Jackson bass ever.

“This bass truly represents the origin story of my relationship with Jackson, tracing back to the late-1980s when the company built my very first Quicksilver Concert Bass, just like this one”, said Ellefson. “Right down to the feel of the body and neck, the layout of the controls and its thundering rich tone, this bass is a modern representation of that exact same instrument of yesteryear. By revisiting our past, I’d say we created an even better instrument for today.”

Packed with enormous Jackson sound and the hyper-fast playability required by the fleet-fingered musician, this 30th Anniversary Concert Bass has a poplar body with ergonomic contours that provide the perfect platform for launching a musical assault- the upper contour provides a comfortably stable anchor for pick or fingerstyle playing alike while the lower contour provides perfect balance when propped on a knee. The through-body quartersawn maple neck features a scarf joint and graphite-reinforcement rods that protect against extreme environmental and climate changes. Built for highly technical lightspeed playing, the 12″-16″ compound radius laurel fingerboard flattens out up the neck for increased playing comfort and speedy articulation.

Earth-shaking EMG? P and EMG J pickups provide plenty of girth and cut with a three-way toggle switch, single volume control and two-band EQ for boosting treble and bass. The Jackson HiMass 4-string bridge sharpens the attack for extra punch and clarity, granting enhanced sustain without significantly altering the instrument’s fundamental tone.

A force to be reckoned with, the 34″-scale Bass CBX IV displays Jackson’s distinctive style with an eye-catching Quicksilver finish, all-black hardware, including everything from the bridge to the Jackson, sealed die-cast tuning machines, Pearloid sharkfin neck inlays and Jackson’s signature pointed 4-in-line colour-matched headstock with black “Radiation” logo and Ellefson’s signature on the back.
