Kasey Chambers’ US Release of First Solo Album in Four Years titled Bittersweet Available Now

US Dates for Bittersweet Tour Begin July 29
Album Receives Early Critical Praise

(Nashville, TN) — July 24, 2015 — Bittersweet, the tenth studio album and first solo record in four years, from Australian singer, songwriter and storyteller, Kasey Chambers is available now in the US on Sugar Hill Records. The album was most added on the Americana radio chart in its initial week.

The Bluegrass Situation premiered Bittersweet last week. Listen to the album stream online now

Bittersweet has also garnered early critical praise, with About Country Music’s Dan MacIntosh proclaiming, “Kasey Chambers has made some mighty fine music over the years, but Bittersweet may just be her best.”

American Songwriter‘s Hal Horowitz praises the album with a 4 out of 5 star review stating that Bittersweet is a “roaring success.”

AllMusic‘s Mark Deming notes, “Bittersweet is a strong, satisfying album from one of the best and most distinctive singer/songwriters of her day, and this confirms she can move in any number of different directions and still offer her listeners something remarkable.”

The Alternate Root’s writer Danny McCloskey offers, “Kasey Chambers triumphantly returns to the chart shouting out ‘I’m Alive.'”

Elmore’s editor-in-chief Suzanne Cadgene says, “Her songwriting remains excellent, especially on tunes like ‘Christmas Day,’ about Christ’s birth, ‘I’m Alive,’ a celebration of pulling through—complete with a flipped finger to the nay-sayers in her life. ‘Wheelbarrow,’ co-written and performed with Ashleigh Dallas, brings Chambers back to what she does best: write quirky songs, and perform them in tandem with another vocalist.”

The official video for the single “Wheelbarrow” is available now and the video for the title track is set to be added to CMT Pure next week.

Chambers says, “Really excited to finally have my latest album, Bittersweet, released internationally. With a new approach to making a record I teamed up with USA producer/engineer Nick Didia. He brought out a musical side to me I never knew I had and still had a way of making me feel like I was ‘home’ in every one of these songs.”

To complement the worldwide release, Chambers will launch her US tour next week with stops in Nashville, Atlanta, Washington, DC, and two performances in New York City, including an appearance at Lincoln Center Out of Doors/Americanafest on August 8.
