LOS ANGELES, CA – At an unprecedented time when holiday shoppers are seeking online gifts that provide hope and cheer, the WriteGirl Poetry Drive offers a refreshing and inspiring solution. WriteGirl, a nonprofit creative writing organization for underserved teen girls, is raising important funds to support its workshops and mentoring program by providing poems written by its participants. WriteGirl teens recently came together online for a PoetryPalooza, where they crafted poems rich in emotion, imagery and creative magic. Poems are distributed electronically, so it’s a green gift that packs a punch. Poems ordered by Dec. 21st will be guaranteed to arrive by Dec. 25th.
Poems are available in the following tiers:
$20 – A short poem that could be about anything but is guaranteed to burst with creativity.
$200 – A more in-depth poem about hope, because who doesn’t want to close 2020 and begin 2021 on a more optimistic note?
$2,000 – A custom-written poem made specifically for you. Tell us who the poem is for, provide some ideas or any creative direction, and our teens will draft something to your specifications. You won’t be disappointed!
Funds raised will support WriteGirl’s transition to digital programming, from online writing workshops to college guidance to one-on-one online mentoring, as well as WriteGirl’s programs for incarcerated and system-involved teen boys and girls through their Bold Ink Writers programs.
For 19 years, WriteGirl has maintained a 100 per cent success rate guiding girls to college, and the Poetry Drive fundraiser will help WriteGirl continue to give teens the support they need.
The WriteGirl Poetry Drive will continue through December 31, 2020.
