The critically acclaimed collection was a runaway success that continues to grow in its fandom, earning over 21 million streams on Spotify alone! Today they continue to celebrate the milestone by releasing the playful indie-punk single “Joseph (Ratboys Version)“. From the chugging four-chord progression and unison scream of “I want you!” to the crescendoing conclusion, “Joseph” has become both a fan favorite and one of Bad Bad Hats’ favorite songs to perform live.
Kerry shares, “What a treat to rediscover “Joseph” through Ratboys, one of the great live bands of our indie era. “Joseph” was one of the first truly collaborative Bad Bad Hats songs: Chris wrote the instrumental and I wrote the melody and lyrics on top of it. In their cover, I love how you can also hear the sum of the Ratboys’ parts: Dave’s distinct guitar-shredding, Julia’s iconic voice, etc. And who is Joseph? I’ll never tell.”
