“I had the craziest urge to write and record a Texas Two Step!” exclaims Barker. “One of the things I love about this song, besides it just being so fun, is that it’s a FEMALE singer asking a man, ‘you wanna take this party elsewhere?’ I think there’s a lotta power in that. Go girl!”

“That Texas sun going down

Lonestar beers all around

Steel and fiddle, cakes on the griddle

It’s hotter than a Diffie song

Neon lights, sawdust floor

I saw you blow right through that door

I was drinkin,’ got to thinkin’

Me and you got something going on

If you came here to two step, well I’m two steps ahead

We gonna waste our time talk all night or do something else instead

Do ya, do ya don’t

Will ya or will ya won’t

You been shootin’ shots, I been shootin’ you eyes

All night long

Should we, should we not

Fuel the fire, stir the pot

It’s a green light let’s hit the road

I’m a buzzin from my head to my toes

It’s a yes or no, do you wanna go

So do ya or do ya don’t”

“Do Ya Don’t” follows on the heels of Barker’s last single, “Cowboy’s Church,” which featured Texas stalwart, Zane Williams. The song captured the attention of the Texas/Red Dirt world and is a Top 10 Finalist in the 2024 TCMA (Texas Country Music Assn.) Christian Country Songwriter Contest. Winners will be announced at the Texas Country Music Awards at Billy Bob’s Texas on Sunday, November 10. “Cowboy’s Church” is also currently in First Round Consideration for a GRAMMY® award in the categories of “Best Americana Performance” and “Best American Roots Song.”
