GRITTY IN PINK AND ULTIMATE JAM NIGHT CELEBRATES WOMEN’S MONTH AT THE WHISKY A GO GO

Los Angeles, CA | March 14, 2024 – Gritty In Pink and Ultimate Jam Night brought feminine energy to the iconic Whisky a Go Go on Tuesday, March 12. Hosted by Hal Sparks (VH1 Talk Soup) and presented by Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum.

Alternative all-girl band Turning Jane started the night with an energetic opening performance of original music. At 9 PM Gritty In Pink ringleader, Shiragirl kicked off their set with a performance of “Bad Guy” by The Interrupters with backing from Aixa Vilar, Livi Dillon, Liza Light, Vashonda Sherra (Sheblime, Shiragirl), and Tatiana Tate. Rock siren Xtine Reckless (Xtine & The Reckless Hearts) got the crowd hyped with Juliette & The Licks’ Speaking My Language” alongside Lizi Gionangeli (Xtine & The Reckless Hearts) and Keyser. Head rocker Frankie Clarke (Frankie & The Studs) channeled her inner Joan Jett and sang “I Hate Myself For Loving You” with Courtney Moody, Megan Rask, Nikki Stevens (Sheblime), and Lele Rose.

Bodacious Thang gave the crowd a piece of her heart with her electric version of Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart” with Jen Oberle, and veteran guitarist Kat Dyson (Cyndi Lauper). Aussie singer/songwriter Leah Martin Brown (Evol Walks), graced the stage and performed “Creatures” by Bones UK with Marisa Testa, Lisa Bianco (Tarah

Who?), and Melody Ector (Teyana Taylor). Singer/DJ Sterling Victorian brought out the sexy vibes with Sizzy Rocket’s “Smells Like Sex” with Holly West. Pop singer/songwriter Jasmine Crowe put her spin on P!nk’s “Try” with help from Jasmin Guevera, Leanne Bowes (Demi Lovato), Nikki Stevens, and Emily Dickinson.

In the latter half of the evening Kym Priess (Stuntdriver) rocked out to Violet” with Celinda Chang (PINKTASTIC PLASTIXX). Atara Glazer performed “Love Bites” which featured Melanie Jo (Slash), Lex Wolfe, Jimena Fosado, and Aria Hurtado. VK Lynne (The Spider Accomplice) sang “Amaranth” joined by Hurtado and Tiffany Schirz. The Gritty community ended the night with a rendition of 4 Non-Blondes’s “What’s Up.”

Other performance highlights of the night included Linn Holmstedt, Taylor Sackson, Tosha Jones, Stephanie Saxon, Cherokee Fortune, Carmen Vandenberg, and more!
