GRITTY IN RAINBOW! 60 MUSICIANS COVER LGBTQIA+ ARTISTS AND ANTHEMS TO CELEBRATE PRIDE MONTH

Los Angeles (June 2022): The Gritty In Pink All GRL Jam returned to Los Angeles on
Thursday, June 9 at The Echo LA. This was the largest jam in Gritty in Pink history,
featuring about 60 of SoCal’s best women and non-binary musicians, Together, these
musicians performed queer anthems and songs by queer artists, in celebration of Pride
Month. Gritty In Pink is on a mission to achieve gender equality in the music industry,
through events, partnerships, and an online marketplace. This event took their mission
a step further by honoring the LGBTQIA+ community!

The feminine-fueled concert kicked off the night with opening performances by rising
songwriter sensation Jayelle, and rap phenomenon Sterling Victorian, who ended her
set with a show stopping dance number. Directed by Lisa Bianco, The All GRL Jam
consisted of one glorious moment after the next, such Chastity Ashley on the hand
drum during Deee-Lite’s “Groove is in the Heart,” Maya Karli belting out Lady Gaga’s
“Born This Way” for the first time as an out lesbian, Plasmic delivering a raw punk rock
rendition of “Bad Reputation” by Joan Jett, Stuntdriver’s Kym Priess doing an
electrifying cover of Prince’s “Darling Nikki” Jasmine Crowe moving the audience with
the soulful “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera, iconic performances from American Idol alums Nadia Turner and Mikalah Gordon, and a larger-than-life finale of Pink’s “Raise
Your Glass” featuring the entire cast of the show! Returning Gritty in Pink All GRL Jam
veterans include Alicia Vigil, Sabrina Winter, Lex Wolfe, Nikki Stevens, Alex
Windsor, Mia Fluxx, and many more – newcomers such as Ariel Bellvalaire, Aria
Hurtado, Sandy Chao and Marlhy brought a fresh new feel to the event. Artist/Gritty in
Pink Founder and CEO Shiragirl hosted the night with Shawnz Begonz while DJ
Lotus kept the vibe up between jam sets.

The event was sponsored by Play Out NYC Clothing, Pabst Blue Ribbon,
Jagermeister, Drew Martin, Guitar Girl Magazine, and Gritty In Pink’s new
marketplace for women in music, INPINK.

Prior to the live event, Gritty in Pink hosted an Instagram livestream pre-show in
partnership with Melissa Etheridge’s Etheridge Foundation for opioid research on June
7. In addition to dazzling performances from Maya Karli, Sterling Victorian, and VK
Lynne, representatives from Play Out NYC and the Etheridge Foundation came on to
chat with hosts Shira Yevin and Raine Palladino. The Etheridge Foundation discussed
their efforts in the medical world, including their funding for research, Melissa Etheridge
came on board as Gritty in Pink’s strategic advisor back in March.

Those who attended the event had the opportunity to sign up as a new user on
