Los Angeles, CA | SEPTEMBER 2022 – Gritty In Pink brought the 90’s back to The Echo LA last Thursday, September 15. The women-led platform brought together 50+ female and non-binary artists, being one of the largest jams in Gritty In Pink history.
Covering some of your favorite anthems from Rage Against the Machine, TLC, Britney Spears to Mary J. Blige.
Comedian Lizzy Cooperman kicked off the night with an opening performance that got the crowd hyped for the night. Following Cooperman, Madeline Rosene serenaded the crowd with a set including her singles “Words” “Everyday Existential Crisis” and more. Jules Quaas joined the stage with Green Day’s “Basket Case.” Jasmine Crowe moved the audience with a soulful rendition of Mary J Blige’s “I’m Going Down.” Shanice
Antonia gave a moving performance of Seal’s iconic song “Kiss From A Rose.” Chastity Ashley covered Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Give It Away Now” with an amazing drum solo. Other highlights of the evening were Shiragirl’s exhilarating performance of Veruca Salt’s “Seether” and Stuntdriver’s Kym Priess energized and show-stopping rendition of Violet by Hole.
The Jam also included performances from vocalists Vashonda Sherra, Marlo the
Barbarian, Mia Fluxx, Taylor Morse, Cameo Adele, Babyghost, Carrie Rapaport, VK Lynne, Dani Hagan, as well as many more musicians!
Gritty In Pink Founder and CEO Shiragirl co-hosted the night with Xtine Reckless (Xtine & the Reckless Hearts), and Kym Priess (Stunt Driver) while DJ Lotus kept the crowd elevated in between jam sets. The night ended with a powerful grand finale of 4 Non Blondes “What’s Up?” which featured the entire roster of the show!

Leading up to the event, Gritty In Pink hosted a IG Live pre-show that featured Jennifer Finch (L7), Jules Walcott, Cameo Adele, Marlo the Barbarian, and Vashonda
Sherra. Where viewers had the opportunity to reminisce about the 90’s and get a sneak peak into some of the performers at the GRL.
