NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 17, 2021) – CMT Next Women of Country alum Leah Turner has debuted her red hot new video for “Wax on the Table” following the exclusive premiere with CMT. Directed by Matt Bender and shot in Pioneertown, CA, the sizzling video, reminiscent of a telenovela, sets the scene of a passionate encounter between a couple – which is then interrupted by another woman. The alluring track, co-written with Skip Black and produced by Andrew King, premiered earlier this month with People, who noted the song “embraces womanhood and [Turner’s] Mexican roots.” “Wax on the Table” comes from Turner’s upcoming EP Lost in Translation, out October 15.

“‘Wax on the Table’ is embracing your skin and your worth,” shares Turner. “Being comfortable in who you are, no matter shape, size or color. Not accepting anything less than what you deserve and not being afraid to go out and get it.”
Born to a rodeo champion father and a first-generation Mexican American mother, Turner marries the two backgrounds sonically and lyrically on Lost in Translation – a process she found “completely natural, given country music and the Latino culture both put such an emphasis on the value of faith, family, hard work. A lot of the American cowboy traditions came from the vaquero, who was the original cowboy. So marrying the two seemed effortless, and gives a strong representation of who I am.” Along with “Once Upon a Time in Mexico” and “Wax on the Table,” the six-song EP will also include her upcoming single “Vaquera and the Cowboy,” out October 8.
