Today Mia Nicolai reveals catchy alt-pop bop ‘Stuck’
Returning with a fire in her belly, Mia Nicolai’s triumphant new single ‘Stuck’ marks a brand new chapter for this exciting young artist.
Oozing with euphoria, ‘Stuck’ is an infectious celebration of freedom.
Upbeat and cheeky, the new single is born from catching feelings for someone. Initially wanting to shake it off, Mia decided to do the opposite and bask in the joy of attraction and anticipation of what could emerge from the early stages of connection. Sharing more, she explained: Stuck is written about a person who had something really magical about them, they were stuck in my mind. I think it’s really important to share a light perspective on life sometimes because there is so much darkness going on in the world. There’s something really beautiful in being attracted to someone, so I decided to embrace it and enjoy it.
2023 has been full of life lessons for Mia Nicolai and the launch of ‘Stuck’ sees her in her element, emerging proudly from the challenges she’s faced in the past, she’s stronger than ever and ready to reveal what she’s been working on.
Born in Amsterdam to a Russian mother and Dutch father, Mia Nicolai grew up ready to take on the world. At the tender age of 3 years old, she defied her music teacher’s wishes of learning the repertoire and would ask for them to improv with her instead, setting the tone for a life of determination. Mia’s adventurous attitude and hunger for experience took her to London, Melbourne, New York and Los Angeles, where she absorbed every experience and channeled it into her artistry.
Echoing her love of escapism, Mia’s sat on an impressive back catalog of indie-leaning alt-pop bops that pull from her playfulness. Her sound offers a dreamy soundscape made for fans to dive into headfirst and take a break from the stresses and strains of everyday life. Despite it still being early days, Mia has already amassed over 11 million streams on Spotify and counting!
Pulling her inspiration from the likes of BENEE, Harry Styles, Natasha Beddingfield and Maggie Rodgers her music has already began connecting with the masses, scooping support from the likes of Billboard, DIY, Clash, Early Rising and Flaunt not to mention early backing from Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 and a wealth of support from Spotify playlists too.
