Written by Liv alongside her producer David Norris and award-winning songwriter Corey Lee Barker, When I Fly is bound to tug at the heartstrings upon hearing her moving story that could have left her without the ability to speak.
At 2 years old, Liv was having difficulty learning to talk and soon she began having seizures. After several trips to the hospital, a medical brain condition was discovered. “My parents were told that I had a 50% chance of ever being able to speak.” Thankfully, with medication, therapy and lots of prayer, the seizures stopped. Upon sharing this story with David and Corey, she said she wanted to write this big inspirational song as her debut single. “This was my first co-write, so I didn’t know what to expect. Corey started singing lyrics and David started strumming on the guitar and in just 2 hours, we had the song finished. It was head spinning and really amazing.” As Liv says in the song, “nobody gave me a snowball chance in hell.” Although the odds were once truly stacked against her with this condition, this teen sensation is persistent on her musical journey. Liv credits the inspiration to her songs from her own personal life. “This song is a personal journey of mine, and a true testimonial that prayers do work. I am always amazed at God’s love and how he turned a health issue into a singing career.”
When I Fly is the first of numerous songs slated to be released throughout 2024. Liv is the real deal as she continues to make music to inspire and encourage her fans. “I hope when fans hear this song as well as my other music, it gives them hope and motivation to never give up, even if people don’t believe in you.”
