PRS Guitars is Offering Limited Quantities of 58/15 LT and 85/15 Pickups in Addition to Black Friday Sales Event

(STEVENSVILLE, MD) November 22, 2022 – For the first time ever, PRS Guitars is making their coveted 58/15 LT and 85/15 pickups available for aftermarket sale. Only 2,300 sets will be available: PRS Guitars is selling 300 sets through their online West Street East store, and the remaining 2,000 sets will be available through Authorized PRS Dealers worldwide.

PRS Guitars is known for studying history, scrutinizing the details, and constantly working to improve their products. This passion and tenacity have deeply penetrated the company’s pickup designs in recent years via their TCI process. “TCI stands for tuned capacitance and inductance and represents a more refined ability to tune those factors to get the resulting tone we want. To our ears, the results are very musical. We are very proud of how far we’ve come in the understanding and making of pickups. It’s been a fun and rewarding process,” said Paul Reed Smith.

The Pickups

PRS 58/15 LT (“low turn”) pickups are vintage-inspired pickups with exceptional clarity. Designed to capture the sweetness of vintage single coils and the warmth of late 1950’s humbuckers, these pickups are lively and open with focused midrange and balanced treble and bass. Specifications: PRS 58/15 LT pickups are covered and use Alnico 2 magnets. DC Resistance is 7.2k and 7.1k for the treble and bass pickups, respectively.

PRS 85/15 pickups bring vintage and modern pickup design together to deliver exceptional clarity and extended high and low end. With balanced full-spectrum clarity, PRS 85/15’s are perfect for modern players driving a pedalboard, and have enough character to deliver when plugging straight into an amp. Specifications: PRS 58/15 LT pickups are uncovered and use Alnico 2 magnets. DC Resistance is 8.3k and 7.5k for the treble and bass pickups, respectively.

PRS Guitars is offering these pickups as sets only. All PRS 58/15 LT and PRS 85/15 pickups that are available as accessory items are spec’d with multi-conductor wire to allow for a variety of switching options.
