Raye Zaragoza shares moving piano ballad “On Your Way Home,” featured on NBC drama series “Found”

Today, LA-based singer-songwriter Raye Zaragoza (“one of the most fresh and compelling voices in folk music today” – NPR Music) has unveiled a poignant piano ballad called “On Your Way Home.” Co-written and produced by Bobby Campbell, “On Your Way Home” is featured in the NBC drama series “Found,” which premiered in October.

“The song is about being there for someone you care about when they’re going through a difficult time – whether it be illness, a break up or something else hard,” says Zaragoza. “It’s about the selflessness of caring for someone else when they’re at a fork in the road in their life.”

The message of “On Your Way Home” ties into many of the themes explored on Zaragoza’s latest studio album Hold That Spiritnamed a “a torrential cloudburst of jangly folk catharsis” by the LA Times. Hold That Spirit is a 12-song celebration of womanhood and freedom, created exclusively with a cast of female producers, engineers, instrumentalists, and co-writers.

Zaragoza, a woman of mixed Indigenous, Asian, and Hispanic heritage, is always inspiring positivity and change through her music. Her 2020 female empowerment anthem “Fight Like a Girl” advocates for reproductive rights, while her single “Red” spotlights domestic violence and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women organization, and “The It Girl” calls for colored women to have greater representation in the media. She also writes the music for Netflix’s ‘Spirit Rangers,’ a show featuring an all Native American writers room and cast, which was recently renewed earlier this year for its third season.

Raye is currently working on the Peter Pan National Tour (which launches in February 2024) in her role as Tiger Lily. This new tour will feature a revised book by Native American playwright Larissa FastHorse, who has been brought on to tackle the musical’s depiction of Native Americans, especially the role of Tiger Lily.
