Award winning Atlantic recording artist Serena Ryder has released the companion video for her new single, “Famous (Feat. Simon Ward of The Strumbellas).” The video premiered via Refinery29 who called it, “a genuine look at what fame means in the modern world and how social media has changed our approach to success.”  In discussing the inspiration behind the video, Serena adds that she “hopes the message that comes across in addition to it being an uplifting story, is that people aspire to spend less time looking at their devices and more time connecting on a human level with each other.” “Famous” – produced by GRAMMY Award-winning producer Dave Cobb – is set to impact Triple A radio outlets nationwide June 4th.

“Famous” follows last year’s EP, “ELECTRIC LOVE,” available now at all U.S. digital music retailers and streaming services. The EP showcases a number of singles, including “Electric Love,” “Got Your Number,” and “Utopia,” all joined by videos streaming now at Ryder’s official YouTube channel. The latter track was also featured on Ryder’s Canadian full-length LP, “UTOPIA,” which debuted at #1 on SoundScan’s “Top Current Albums” and “Digital Albums” charts upon its release last year.

“ELECTRIC LOVE” marked Ryder’s first new release since 2012’s fifth studio album, “HARMONY.” That collection earned the Toronto-based singer/songwriter her greatest popular and critical success to date, including platinum sales certification from Music Canada, the 2013 Juno Award for “Adult Alternative Album of the Year,” and an additional string of top Juno nods including “Album of the Year.”

“HARMONY” was highlighted by the #1 hit single, “Stompa,” which spent eight consecutive weeks topping Triple A radio airplay charts here in the Lower 48 upon its 2013 release. A top 10 smash in Ryder’s home country, “Stompa” earned 4x platinum certification from Music Canada and firmly established the talented tunesmith. Named “Artist of the Year” and “Songwriter of the Year” at the 2014 Juno Awards, Ryder followed “Stompa” with yet another top 10, 2x platinum certified crossover hit single, “What I Wouldn’t Do.”

Ryder’s songs have also been featured in and performed on a truly remarkable number of film, TV, and commercial projects spanning VEEP, Grey’s Anatomy, American Idol, The Voice, The Tonight Show, Drop Dead Diva, Mob Wives, Suits, and advertising campaigns from Ford, Cadillac, and many others.

Ryder has also proven herself to be a hard-traveling troubadour, with countless headline tours both in her native Canada and around the globe. She has shared stages with a variety of diverse artists including Kayne West, HAIM, Pitbull, Melissa Etheridge, OneRepublic, Tegan & Sara, and Sara Bareilles.
