The Latin Recording Academy® Announces Acoustic Session Featuring Artists From Brazil

MIAMI (OCTOBER 18, 2022) — The Latin Recording Academy® announced the second digital concert for its 2022 Latin GRAMMY® Acoustic Sessions, featuring Latin GRAMMY nominee Giulia Be, along with Manu GavassiAgnes Nunes and Luísa Sonzanominated for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album for the 23rd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards®. In addition, Paula Lima, also a past Latin GRAMMY nominee, will have a special presentation. The content will be available on The Latin Recording’s Facebook page as well as each participating artists’ Facebook page on Oct. 20 at 3 pm EST.

Recorded in São Paulo, the all-female lineup will interpret the classic songs of singer-songwriter Rita Lee—who will be honored this November with the Lifetime Achievement Award—under the musical direction of the acclaimed Zé Ricardo.

“This acoustic session—featuring the songs of Rita Lee interpreted in new ways, by new voices—showcases our commitment to excellence in the recording arts while preserving the cultural legacy of Latin music,” said Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy. “These artists represent the new generation of Brazilian music creators and embody our commitment to building more inclusive spaces for musicians as we aim to bridge the gender gap within our industry.”

“We are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with The Latin Recording Academy to help bring this beautiful moment to Facebook, with such outstanding performers joining together to honor one of the most iconic female artists, Rita Lee,” said Adrian Harley, Head of Music Label Partnerships for Meta in Latin America. “It will be a special way for fans to connect and engage on our platform, around the music artists they love.”

The Latin GRAMMY® Acoustic Sessions offer intimate musical experiences where artists present their own songs through a personal narrative. In addition to showcasing established performers, they aim to promote the new generation of up-and-coming talent, with a special focus on diversity and equality within each genre.

Last July, The Latin Academy launched its first digital acoustic session of the year, featuring Latin GRAMMY nominee El Fantasma, accompanied by Latin GRAMMY winners, Los Dos Carnales and Lupita Infante, also a Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY® nominee.
