NAMM 2020: GRETSCH® ANNOUNCES NEW PLAYERS EDITION MODELS AND EXPANDS STREAMLINER™ COLLECTION WITH JUNIOR JET™ CLUB AND MORE

Scottsdale, Ariz. (January 16, 2020) – Gretsch® today announces the all-new G6659T Players Edition Broadkaster® Jr. Center Block with Bigsby®, new finishes for the G6128T and G6129T Players Edition Jet® FT with Bigsby®, the limited edition G6134T-LTD Limited Edition Penguin™ with Bigsby®, the all-new G2210 Streamliner Junior Jet™ Club as well as new colors across the Streamliner™ Collection.

The G6659T Players Edition Broadkaster® Jr. Center Block with Bigsby® features a slightly smaller single-cutaway body with a chambered spruce center block for greater comfort, tonal focus and feedback resistance. Two new U.S.-made Full’Tron™ pickups deliver full-spectrum sonic range with a growl unlike any other pickup, in addition to classic Gretsch chime, balance and brilliance with a dash of extra-mid concentration for powering through overdriven and distorted passages at full volume.

Other features include a lower set maple neck for greater playing comfort, 12”-radius ebony fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and aged pearloid Neo-Classic™ inlays, master volume with treble bleed circuit, no-load tone control with Squeezebox™ paper-in-oil capacitors, anchored Adjusto-Matic™ bridge, string-thru Bigsby® B7CP, Graph Tech TUSQ® XL nut and Gotoh® locking tuners.

The G6659T is available in three fashionable Gretsch finishes — Round-Up Orange with matching headcap and tortoise pickguard, Two-Tone Ivory/Walnut Stain with tortoise pickguard and Walnut Stain headcap, or Two-Tone Smoke Green with Smoke Green pickguard and headcap. All finishes feature nickel hardware.

The G6128T Players Edition Jet FT® with Bigsby® now expands to include a Round-Up Orange finish with tortoiseshell pickguard and nickel hardware, while the G6129T Players Edition Jet® FT with Bigsby® dons a new vivid Red Sparkle finish with a silver pickguard and nickel hardware.

Both models feature a select mahogany body with maple top that produces the signature strong, punchy response that has made the Jet famous. A pair of High Sensitive Filter’Tron™ pickups complements the Jet FT’s chambered body to produce a wide, balanced and transparent tone, while the lowered mahogany neck set greatly improves fret-hand mobility while also giving the picking hand a closer approach, increasing comfort and accuracy.

Other features include a 12” rosewood fingerboard with pearloid Neo-Classic™ inlays, no-load master tone pot with Squeezebox™ paper-in-oil capacitors and master volume with treble bleed circuit, anchored Adjusto-Matic™ bridge, string-thru Bigsby tailpiece, Gotoh® locking tuning keys and Graph Tech® TUSQ® XL nut.

Clad in a splendid two-tone Smoke Gray/Violet Metallic finish, the G6134T-LTD Limited Edition Penguin™ with Bigsby® offers an exquisite take on the rarest of Gretsch® birds.

The Penguin’s chambered mahogany body with arched maple top captures harmonic richness by letting air resonate between the top and body for livelier and more articulate tone, while a pair of TV Jones® TV Classic pickups beautifully project bright, twangy notes with a hint of growl similar to late-1950s Filter’Trons. The result is an extraordinary voice ideal for distinctive rock ‘n’ roll licks, chiming country rhythms or articulate rockabilly riffs. A three-position toggle switch, two volume pickup controls, master volume and master tone open up endless tonal possibilities.

Its premium features also include a set maple neck, 12” radius ebony fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, Bigsby B3C tailpiece, arched rocking bar bridge with pinned ebony base, Grover® Imperial™ tuning machines and bone nut.

Richly appointed, this limited edition beauty is decked out with silver sparkle body and neck binding, mother of pearl Neo-Classic™ inlays, jeweled arrow control knobs, nickel hardware, Violet Metallic pickguard with ghosted Gretsch and Penguin logos and Violet metallic headcap.
