Sensaphonics to hold “Guess How Loud You’re Listening” booth contest to boost hearing health awareness at the NAMM Show

Sensaphonics will promote safer listening habits at NAMM and invites attendees to test their listening level acumen and win prizes, including a dB Check Pro

The NAMM Show, Anaheim, CA, January 23, 2025 Sensaphonics, a leader in innovative IEM technologies and hearing health essentials, is bringing a new and interactive experience to The NAMM Show with the “Guess How Loud You’re Listening” booth contest as part of the company’s 40th year anniversary celebration. The contest is designed to raise awareness of safe listening practices by musicians, audio engineers, and anyone passionate about preserving their hearing.

How It Works:
Visitors to the Sensaphonics booth (Hall A, #11906) can use their own in-ear monitors (IEMs) or headphones, or try the provided equipment, to test their listening levels with the revolutionary dB Check Pro sound level analyzer. Participants will guess their listening level in decibels (dBA-SPL).

Grand Prize: One lucky participant will win a dB Check Pro (valued at $399), the only device that delivers musicians and engineers the real-time and average listening levels of their IEMs or headphones while providing safe exposure times. Everyone who participates in the contest will be entered into a drawing which will take place on the final day of the show. Contestants do not need to be present to win.

Instant Prizes: Participants who guess their listening level exactly will win a pair of ER20 earplugs, Sensaphonics’ top choice for high-fidelity hearing protection.

“This contest combines education and a sense of awareness for participants, while reinforcing Sensaphonics’ commitment to hearing health,” says Dr. Michael Santucci, Au.D., president and founder of Sensaphonics. “It’s a great opportunity for visitors to experience how the dB Check Pro can help them manage their listening habits and protect their hearing for life.”

With hearing damage most often being an irreversible condition, tools like the dB Check Pro empower musicians, engineers, and anyone exposed to high-SPL environments to monitor their listening habits and make informed decisions about sound exposure. Sensaphonics is dedicated to preserving the hearing of music and audio professionals worldwide.

About the dB Check Pro
The dB Check Pro was born out of Sensaphonics’ focus on preserving hearing health in the music industry. It displays how loud the user is listening to their IEMs or headphones, as well as the safe exposure time for that level – all in real time, and with both earpieces in place. This allows artists and engineers to set their listening levels safely based on how long they will be playing. dB Check Pro is literally the only device on the market that gives music professionals the knowledge of how loud and how long they can listen safely on stage, in rehearsal, and in the studio. dB Check Pro is programmed to work with over 140 top professional IEM and headphone models from 12 leading manufacturers (updatable) and also functions as a basic environmental sound level meter, with an integral on-board microphone to measure ambient room levels.
