Peavey Electronics recently donated over 90 electric and acoustic instruments to the Boys and Girls Club of East Mississippi. The chief operating officer says the company was reorganizing its manufacturing building. They collected the instruments and some cases to give to the club.

Tuesday was the first day the kids actually got to see the guitars.

“Learning to play a musical instrument is great for the development of your mind,” said Courtland Gray, the chief operating officer at Peavey Electronics. “Somebody might be the next Hartley Peavey in here or the next great musician to come out of the south, in Mississippi.”

The Boys and Girls Club is looking for volunteers to teach music lessons or assist with the classes. You can call (601) 482-2544.
