During the recent pandemic, guitarist and designer Adam Grant had the time to start playing guitar again. Finding the time to play more inspired him to grow his guitar collection. With his growing guitar collection, he realized he had to change the strings more often than what seemed necessary. He found that having his guitars out on display was corroding the strings faster than normal, and he felt he was spending more time (and money) changing strings than playing the guitars. That’s when he decided that this had to change, and he designed the String Sling. While speaking to Mr. Grant about the design process, he mentioned the informative trials, tests, and feedback from musicians that helped him design this well-thought-out product.
Grant and his team spent many hours doing research and development for this new invention and spared no expense utilizing the best quality materials to make the String Sling one of the newest and most innovative accessories to be introduced to the market.
The String Sling has so many useful features it’s hard to know where to begin. It fits most standard guitars, electric and acoustic. It can be used as a cleaning/buffing cloth, has pockets for a capo and picks, and can double as a highly durable and comfortable guitar strap. The microfiber belly of the String Sling uses the same high-quality microfiber used by Fender, high-quality Japanese elastic, triple fastening layers for secure strap security, and extra-wide velcro for durability. It can be wrapped around the guitar neck while on display while still allowing the guitar body and shape to be admired. You can even add strap locks to the String Sling strap so that you can feel very secure while using it around the house or on stage.
Although the String Sling has all these features, it can be configured to just be a string cleaner, storage, and neck protector. It is great for adding extra protection to the neck during transport, and it’s a great addition to have in your gig arsenal as a backup strap and extra storage.
It currently comes in black and red, and there are plans for an Olympic White version for guitar and a bass version in all three colors due for release in March of 2022. It currently retails around $45 (about four sets of guitar strings, depending on the brand). It’s a great accessory that will save time and money for those that want to keep their new strings sounding “new” longer, protect their fingerboards, and have a great quality strap.
