NEW YORK, NY – JUNE 26, 2018 – Bandsintown, the world’s largest independent concert discovery platform, today announces key partnerships in Japan and France.
Expansion in Japan: Announcing partnership with Lawson Tickets and Ticket Pia
Bandsintown has established partnerships with the two foremost Japanese ticketing companies Lawson Ticket and Ticket Pia, to help international artists better reach and connect with local concert-goers and music fans. Today there are over 30,000 annual live events in Japan, an increase from 15,000 in 2007 with ticket sales tripling in the same period, representing a $3 Billion live music market.
These partnerships will make it easier for fans to discover more artists, both domestically and internationally, with an entirely localized version of the Bandsintown Concerts App. Bandsintown has also localized its artist tools to help artists better connect with their fans and grow their audience.
Tourism has also been steadily rising in Japan (25% Annually) and by all indications will grow further with upcoming international events like the 2019 Rugby World Cup, and 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo (projecting 40 Million visitors in 2020).
