Miranda Lambert Gives a Shout Out to Women in Country Music at the ACM Awards 2016

She did it again.  Up against artists Kelsea Ballerini, Jana Kramer, Kacey Musgraves, and one of Country’s most famous artists, Carrie Underwood, Miranda took home (for the seventh year in a row) the coveted award for best Female Vocalist of the Year at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards.

In her acceptance speech, Lambert gave a big shout out to women in country music.  “I love seeing tonight a bunch of new country girls up here shining, singing their great songs that they wrote themselves. I’m really excited for women in country music and I’m glad to be here as one of them.”

Lambert also won Vocal Event of the Year with her hit single “Smokin’ and Drinkin’” from her fifth studio album Platinum.
