Recorded at Southern Ground Nashville with a band of all-star Nashville session cats including Tony Lucido on bass, Nir Z on drums, Jason Roller on violin, and Gordon Mote on piano, Caroline Jones today released her Official Music Video for her beautiful rendition of the popular jazz classic “The Party’s Over” from the 1956 musical comedy Bells Are Ringing. Of covering the song Caroline says, “I grew up singing American Songbook classics as part of my classical vocal training. I have always loved ‘The Party’s Over’ and dreamed of recording my own take on the lyric. It’s a story about disillusionment, narrated in the most poignant, honest way. Confronting the truth can be very difficult at times, but one is always better for it.”
The jazz classic has been covered countless times over the years including covers by Nat King Cole, Shirley Bassey, Doris Day, and Willie Nelson, to name just a few.
Caroline Jones Bio
Declared one of Rolling Stone’s “10 Country Artists You Need to Know” as “an ambitious, entrepreneurial guitar heroine primed to bring back the pop-country glory of the Nineties,” singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Caroline Jones co-produced her EP, Chasin’ Me (October 18, 2019/ Mailboat Records), with Grammy and Academy Award-winning producer Ric Wake (Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston). The talented independent artist wrote all tracks of the EP except for “Gulf Coast Girl,” written for her by Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally, and her current single “All of the Boys,” co-written with Zac Brown. In March 2020, Caroline released a special EP for “All of the Boys” containing multiple new mixes of the song – Album, Coffee House, Country Dance – to celebrate her love for music, spanning genres.
So far in 2020, Caroline has toured with country stars Sara Evans and Lee Brice, made her return to the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage, and appeared in a moving virtual concert as part of Global Citizen and the World Health Organization’s “Together At Home” Series. This followed an impressive 2019, during which Caroline toured with Zac Brown Band for the third consecutive year, supported Kenny Chesney’s 21-date Songs for the Saints tour, joined an all-star female cast in support of Trisha Yearwood’s Every Girl on Tour, and made her late night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Throughout 2018, Jones toured with Jimmy Buffett & the Eagles, Zac Brown Band & OneRepublic, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Vince Gill, and Kip Moore. Prior to that, she shared the stage with Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, and Toby Keith at the Trying to Reason hurricane relief benefit concert, which led to a charity single release with Buffett, a distribution deal with his Mailboat Records, and ultimately the release of “Gulf Coast Girl (ft. Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Lukas Nelson and Mac McAnally as “The Pelicanaires”)”.
When she is not on the road touring or in the studio, Caroline is also the host of Sirius XM’s Art & Soul where she sits down with top singer-songwriters for intimate acoustic performances and conversations about their craft and creating the perfect song.
