Muriel Anderson releases new cookbook, “Acoustic Chef”

Perfect Holiday Gift for Music Lovers, Travel Buffs and Foodies Alike, New Cookbook/CD Takes You on a Heartfelt Musical & Culinary Adventure Around the Globe

Nashville, TN — Music and meals are great unifiers – bringing people together like nothing else. For the ideal combination of the two, legendary guitarist Muriel Anderson invites you into her international adventures with her Acoustic Chef cookbook and CD with beautiful photos and stories. Available now — just in time for the holidays. In it, we are reminded of the simple pleasures of sharing music, meals, and laughter with friends, both old and new, as Muriel shares mouthwatering easy and unique recipes from her tours around the world — with award-winning music written to go with each. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Anderson’s  Music for Life Alliance, supporting music programs for students in need. Hardcover for $35.00 at murielanderson.com/cookbook.

Just as different beverages go well with different dishes, the right music can compliment the experience of cooking and eating. Like a musical sommelier, Anderson pairs each composition with recipes and the stories behind them of serendipitous encounters, family traditions, and companionable evenings spent with friends. Ease of preparation is at the forefront, without sacrificing flavour and creativity.

The music on the CD, mostly originals composed for the project, ranges as widely as Anderson’s travels, including a stunningly authentic-sounding gypsy dance “Paprika” to accompany goulash and the wild throat singing on “Tuvan Horseman,” sung by the Alash group while they were helping Muriel make their unique lamb dumplings. Muriel’s French vocals on “Under Paris Skies” are underscored by riffs by none other but Django’s grandson Lulo Reinhardt. The plaintive tune “The Immigrant” is contrasted by a rowdy roots medley with fiddle player Michael Cleveland. The CD was recently nominated for “Best Album” in the Concept/International category at the W.A.M Awards.

“On my concert tours around the world, the most treasured memories are the wonderful people I meet, the amazing meals and the music we have shared,” says Anderson. “Sometimes we migrate to the kitchen where my friends might share a treasured family recipe and invite me to join in the cooking process. This book and the accompanying CD are reflective of my live shows, bringing you with me on a virtual tour around the world. I hope you enjoy it!”

The official release date for digital music and hardcover book/CD: November 27, 2020
