Aspiring Country Western Singer, Yodelist and Guitarist Ruby Leigh Wows all Four Judges on ‘The Voice’

The young sixteen-year-old aspiring country-western singer, yodelist, and guitarist Ruby Leigh from the small town of Foley, Missouri, wowed all four judges on last night’s episode of NBC’s hit show The Voice Blind Auditions performing Patsy Montana’s “I Want To Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart.”

John Legend said, “I’ve truly never heard anything like what you just did. I loved how clear and precise and piercing and beautiful your tone was. And then when you started doing the yodeling, it was like, how is a human being able to do the things that you’re doing? You can win The Voice, honestly.

Gwen Stefani chimed in, saying, “There’s just something so powerful about being 16, playing the guitar, having a style, like, with the way that you’re dressed. And I’m, like, blown away by you.”

Niall added, “The energy is just insane. You got four chairs for a reason. … The control and power that you’ve got at 16 is just insane. You’re really exciting …”

Country Queen Reba McEntire closed it out by telling Ruby Leigh, “I’m a third-generation rodeo brat, so Patsy Montana, a country western singer — not just country, there is a difference — I’m very flattered, very proud of my heritage that you’re singing this song. Matter of fact, my mama could yodel and she taught me how to yodel. [Yodels]”

All four judges asked for Ruby Leigh to be on their team, but the winner was Reba McEntire! We think it’s a perfect fit!

We’ve been a fan of Ruby Leigh since we met her at the National Association of Music Merchants convention in Nashville, TN, back in the summer of 2018. She wowed us then just as she has wowed The Voice judges.
