Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Liv Miraldi drops her latest single, “Teeth,” an appetizer for her new project, 2019, slated for release this year.
Talking about the song, Miraldi says, “‘Teeth’ is a cautionary tale about how things can look perfect from the outside, but you never truly know what’s going on in someone’s personal life. I was at my lowest during this time, grappling with profound heartbreak, loss, and depression; but, from social media all you would see is that I’d signed a publishing deal, moved to LA, and was living ‘the dream.’ When I look back on this season, the only noticeable sign that I was struggling was that I had stopped smiling with my teeth.”
Miraldi’s forte is lyrics and concept, as well as working with artists, helping them discover their sound. She’s worked with the likes of Tinashe, Mod Sun, Lauren Spencer Smith, Natalie Jane, Johnny Orlando, Charlotte Sands, GAYLE, Arden Jones, and VINCINT.
While working with others, she posted uncut songs on TikTok, resulting in more than 60,000 followers and millions of views.
Last year, she released “Wingwoman” with KOLE and “Same People,” landing her on Spotify’s New Music Friday, NY Pop, and Young, Wild & Free among others, and her single “Denver” appeared on Spotify’s New Music Friday, Next Gen Singer-Songwriters, and Created by Women.
Miraldi began releasing music in 2017. Her sound, at once moody and intricate, emanates poignant emotions and authenticity.
“Teeth” rolls out on lightly dancing colors topped by Miraldi’s evocative vocals, oozing alluring tonal nuances and passionate textures. Riding a mid-tempo rhythm, the melody sways with delicious surfaces. On the chorus, Miraldi’s expressive voice offers accomplished phrasing, adding rounded, silky timbres.
