Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter, musician, and actor Camille K releases her new single, “Be My Boo,” a song that captures the carefree feeling of summer days on the beach and drives along the Pacific Coast Highway.
Written by Camille K and M11SON, “Be My Boo” is distributed through WHO?MAG Distribution via The Orchard/SONY.
“Be My Boo” follows on the heels of Camille K’s “Good Fight,” which was released in April. A blend of creamy R&B and pop savors, “Good Fight” traveled on a deliciously swaying melody, while “Be My Boo” bubbles with irresistible pop energy. Both tracks demonstrate Camille K’s gift for contagious pop melodies.
Influenced by her mother’s taste in music – soul, R&B, and classic love songs – and her father’s preference for rock, Camille K forged her own unique sound, merging alluring melodies and modern pop flair.
Camille K began performing when she was 11 years old. Since then, she has shared the stage with Gina Schock (The Go-Go’s), Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (Steely Dan/Doobie Brothers), and Barry Goudreau (Boston), as well as opening for Flo Rida, Ja Rule, C&C Music Factory, Lit, Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC, O-Town, LFO, and Jon Anderson (Yes).
In 2022, as a contestant on America’s Got Talent, Camille K mesmerized the judges and the national audience, performing “Still in Love.” Heidi Klum said she was “absolutely amazing” and “the whole package,” while Sofia Vergara hailed her voice as “spectacular.” Simon Cowell called the performance “beautiful.”
The movies Finding Christmas and 7th Secret featured Camille K’s music and her 2023 single, “Daydreamer,” hit #2 on iTunes’ Top Dance chart.
“Be My Boo” rolls out on emerging, skiffing guitars flowing into a lusciously soft, thumping rhythm topped by gleaming, layered surfaces of percolating pop colors. Camille K’s velvety, evocative vocals imbue the lyrics with warm, feel-good surfaces silhouetted by luminous vocal harmonies that add effervescent dimensions to the melody.
Wonderfully reminiscent of Britney Spears, Madonna, and Lana Del Rey at their best, only more complex, “Be My Boo” hits all the right notes.
