Singer-songwriter, actor, and multi-instrumentalist Naomi Jane unveils her brand-new single, “Press Send,” a song about betrayal. Lifted from her upcoming debut EP, sweet talk, “Press Send” elevates an intense personal ordeal into a chronicle of empowerment.
Naomi Jane explains, “‘Press Send’ is about standing up for yourself. So often, I think as girls, young women, we compromise for way less than we deserve. This song is about advocating for yourself in a relationship when the other person isn’t putting in as much as you are. It’s about having the courage to move on.”
Her debut EP, sweet talk, is set to release on December 6, 2024, with further visual releases extending into 2025, including “Like Like Love” and “Socks.”
Jane grew up in New York City and Greenwich, Connecticut. At the age of four, she was performing in theater and film, gracing the boards in off-Broadway and regional theater productions, including the role of Young Teddy Trager in the musical Aussie Song
Her television debut was on PBS Kids with Monkey Monkey Music, followed by appearing in the award-winning series Assisted Living. She also starred in the film A Night with the Sheintops.
“Press Send” rolls out on a chopsticks-like piano topped by Jane’s passionate vocals, imbuing the lyrics with complex emotions, including regret, anguish, hints of bitterness, and a feeling of expanding freedom. A dark resonance enters along with echoing harmonies, giving the tune resolute depth and dimension.
The music video for “Press Send” reveals a visually rich, otherworldly representation of the emotional turmoil Jane explores in the song.
Jane describes the video as “textual and otherworldly,” mirroring the emotional impact of finally letting go and moving on from a toxic relationship. “I wanted to create something that wasn’t just literal but expressed the emotional impact of hitting ‘send’ on that goodbye message.”
With “Press Send,” Naomi Jane offers a sendoff to a cheating ex that’s laced with saccharine-flavored venom and emancipation.
