ROREY Releases New Single/Music Video “Dying Fire”

New York-based singer-songwriter and musician ROREY unveils her latest single/music video, “Dying Fire,” a track lifted from her upcoming album, Temporary Tragedy.

Talking about the album, ROREY shares, “The album is essentially about two people who couldn’t make it work, no matter how much they loved each other, because what they wanted and they needed were at odds. In the end, they both got hurt in the face of love, never fully realized. It holds space for both people’s experience, almost as a shared ache.”

The new single, “Dying Fire,” blends the catharsis of dream-pop with poignant melodies and sumptuous arrangements.

“’Dying Fire’ sits in this space between love and impossibility. The song doesn’t blame or excuse; it simply states with radical acceptance that what once was can never be again. Similar to ‘Temporary Tragedy,’ love can only go so far when one person is left carrying it alone,” explains ROREY.

The forthcoming album picks up where ROREY left off with last year’s Dysphoria, her sophomore EP, which perceived mental illness as something like weather – sudden, violent, oddly beautiful. Made with co-writer/co-producer Scott Effman, it explores the push-pull thinking process of instability: clarity that fades, fear that rushes in, desire for meaning that refuses to disappear.

ROREY’s music doesn’t merely connect—it articulates the unsayable, the stuff you swallow mid-sentence, and quietly suggests you’re not the only one who feels that way.

ROREY has been featured in elite media outlets. Her music has appeared on popular Spotify editorial playlists, including Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Indie, New Music Daily, and New in Pop.

“Dying Fire” opens on low-slung, luminous surfaces vaguely reminiscent of a sacred hymn or dirge, topped by ROREY’s soft, delicate vocals. Silhouetted by a slightly breathy halo, her voice evokes hints of regret mixed with tones of wistful nostalgia and profound acceptance. As the melody drifts and glides, a mood of surrender reveals itself – as if to say, the past is permanently gone.

Wonderfully exquisite, “Dying Fire” is a beautiful song delivered with gentle flair and haunting, chic style.
