Sam Paige uses her music to describe the trials and tribulations she has gone through. She voices her opinion, and she isn’t afraid to throw some well-deserved shade at the people who have treated her badly. Her new single “Don’t Hold Back” and its video release tomorrow, but you can watch the video and hear the single early here.
The video starts out strong with Paige sitting on her bed reading something on her computer. By the looks of it, she is NOT happy. She sings the lyrics as she is sitting on her bed and venting to the audience. It makes the viewer feel like a friend talking over a long breakup. Flashes of the unhappy couple appear throughout the video, showing how Paige might be upset now, but it was ultimately the best thing for her. That the boyfriend has expectations for Paige that just was not what she wanted for herself. This video is a great expression of the pain and frustration that can lead to a breaking point in a relationship, as frustration between the two builds to a climax.
Being a pop singer/songwriter from Edison, New Jersey who isn’t afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve, Sam Paige is really a one of a kind artist. Being inspired by artists such as Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson, Paige strives to show complete vulnerability within her music touching on topics such as love, lust, insecurity, and overall confidence. Beginning as a poet, she found inspiration to share her life struggles and feelings within her lyrics. Previously, Sam trained with “The Voice” vocal coach Coreen Sheehan, and appeared on NBC with actor Corbin Bleu, at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Paige states “I feel music has healing powers, it helps people go through hard times, and it also can bring people together.”
