My name is Demi Ramos, I’m an artist from New York City. My parents were first-generation Puerto Ricans. I studied classical music as a kid but as soon as I discovered hardcore/rock music, I was inspired to start my own band. Musical influences for me are the underground bands I’ve heard throughout New York as well as the industrial sounds that come out of the city 24/7.
Tell us about your new single ‘Just a Phase‘ and the inspiration behind it.
The song was made by accident! It was written in an hour during a spur-of-the-moment session in LA. I remember listening to a lot of Blink 182, Weezer, Bloc Party and Yeah Yeah Yeahs during that trip.
What was the songwriting and recording process?
We tracked this demo one day when the homies were hanging in the studio and it all came together with Garzi and Saakai in about an hour or so.
What do you hope your fans/listeners take away with them when they listen to your music?
When did you first pick up the guitar and what drew you to that instrument?
My mom put me in guitar lessons at age 9. I love guitar over other instruments because you can feel the rumble on your body when you play.
Who are some of your musical influences?
Interpol, Turnstile, Grimes, Show Me The Body, and Radiohead.
What’s next?
Lots of projects in 2023. More new music <3
