The LI Super Bowl’s half time performance by Lady Gaga was outstanding. Whether you’re a fan of Lady Gaga or not, or part of the group that was going to “boycott” the performance without even understanding Lady Gaga’s statement, you cannot deny that this performance was exceptional. It was everything Gaga…theatrical, acrobatic, about acceptance, and extremely full of talent. Some people thought she was going to fill her time slot full of political rhetoric, but what Gaga did was stick to her music which speaks her true feelings of acceptance and inclusion.
Lady Gaga opened the show with her rendition of “God Bless America” and “This Land is Your Land” followed by stating we are “one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all” before plunging down onto the field. She then led into her hit songs “Poker Face” “Born This Way,” “Telephone,” “Just Dance,” “Million Reasons,” and “Bad Romance.” She even took the time to say to “Hey, Dad. Hi, Mom”, which earlier in the day she commented that she was from a regular family just like every one else.
She concluded her show with saying “Super Fifty-One” with a mic drop, and a football catch, and jumping off the stage.
Lady Gaga, you rock!
