Emerging singer/songwriter Stella Prince released her emotional sophomore single, “Scared” today, Friday, May 21. Self-written by Stella, the wistful track delves into the uncertainty of the future and allows Stella to draw her listeners in with her vulnerable lyrics and captivating vocals.
“Scared is about how overwhelming it is not knowing what is coming next in life and the frustration of waiting for what you want. Realizing that pursuing my dreams is up to me is scary yet empowering,” Stella told Essentially Pop in an exclusive interview. “The uptempo melody helps make it a really positive message. Relying on myself is the only way to go.”
With a unique array of influences including Joni Mitchell and EmmyLou Harris, the New York native has performed in such venues as Nashville’s The Bluebird Cafe, Pig N’ Whistle in Los Angeles, Woodstock’s The Colony, The Falcon, and Club Helsinki. She has had virtual solo performances at Nashville Entertainment Weekly, Limelight Music, River Spirit Music, Sync Summit and at New York’s The Bitter End. Released earlier this year, the 16-year-old’s debut single “Before You Leave” depicts a powerful, timely, and universal message guaranteed to speak to the hearts of listeners of all generations and genres.
A confessional storyteller, Stella communicates her personal life experiences to her listeners and strives to make a difference in their lives through the power of her music. Stella is currently working on more new music and exciting new projects to come in 2021.
