The Playing For Change Foundation (PFCF) is known for its commitment to enhancing communities through musical and cultural initiatives. Today, it stands with Frances Gourley, a 12-year-old facing the rare genetic disease DHDDS, by launching the “Playing for Frances” charity auction. This event, starting February 28, 2024, will showcase unique items and experiences from world-renowned artists and celebrities, aiming to fund the search for a cure.
Frances, the child of John Gourley and Zoe Manville from Portugal. The Man, was diagnosed with DHDDS in 2021, a condition affecting only 70 individuals globally. Her symptoms, including epilepsy and severe muscle tremors, have presented her family with unimaginable challenges, leading them to establish “Frances Changed My Life” to support research into DHDDS and other rare diseases.
The “Playing for Frances” auction promises unforgettable memorabilia and experiences from celebrated figures, such as a chance to meet Coldplay alongside a tour experience, autographed merchandise from Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers’ handwritten lyrics, a special edition album from Radiohead, a gourmet dinner by Roy Choi, an intimate gathering with Tenacious D, and a luxurious stay at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows, among other exclusive items.
The campaign will peak with a private benefit event on March 9. Interested parties can place their bids at Charitybuzz.com/PlayingForFrances and learn more about supporting Frances’s cause at www.franceschangedmylife.com.
