“Dreamy and daring, it’s the perfect LP for ushering in the first hazy days of spring.”
– Rolling Stone Country
New York, NY (February 21, 2018) – Caitlin Canty will release Motel Bouquet on March 30 via Tone Tree Music. After announcing the album with the haunting “Take Me For A Ride” and following with the sunnier “Motel”, Canty debuts the moving “Scattershot” today at Rolling Stone Country.
“The ominous ballad evokes powerful weather, starting out as a slow lilt and building to a stormy ensemble of acoustic instruments, with Canty’s soft voice gliding smoothly overhead,” says RS Country.
“Scattershot” paints a soul at the mercy of a storm as floodwaters rise; “First it’s filling up the wells / And it’s rolling through the streets of this town / Over the steps of the motel / Lightning tore the sky from the clouds / Now it’s rising to the rafters / Climbing up the steeple / Ringing all the bells / Ringing all the bells.”

Produced by Punch Brothers banjoist Noam Pikelny and featuring a band of some of Nashville’s finest musicians, Motel Bouquet is an album written on the move — in airplanes, motels, backstage, and upon uprooting herself and leaving behind the hard concrete of New York City for the green edges of Nashville. Canty wrote these songs while looking back at loss, falling in love, and building a new life.
Motel Bouquet has been praised by Rolling Stone Country, American Songwriter, Paste, and The Bluegrass Situation, to name a few. The album is available for pre-order, along with a wide variety of exclusive items and bundles at PledgeMusic. Tour dates start March 17 in Santa Monica and extend through the spring.
